On or Off the Mark

Sometime back in the Dark Ages (ca., 1985) I started writing a silly column about vegetarianism and veganism (...and any other more-or-less-related topics that happened to interest me) for the Vegetarian Society of Colorado. My girlfriend at the time suggested the title On or Off the Mark, probably because she considered me to be "off the mark" most of the time.

A couple of years ago I took on the daunting task of resurrecting all my old columns. After months of scanning paper documents and rooting around in old computer files, I came up with a surprisingly large body of work. Rather than letting it collect virtual dust on my computer's hard drive, and figuring that quantity trumps quality every time, I've decided to embarrass myself once again by republishing it all as a blog in this space.

I hope you won't find my ideas too old and stodgy, and that, even if you do, you'll respond with thought-provoking comments of your own. What better use of the Internet could there be?!
